Privacy Policy
Spain Connect (the "App") is operated by Lothlorien Labs ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use Spain Connect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to the Spain Connect mobile app on iOS and Android and to this website.
By using Spain Connect, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple, we receive and store your email address, name, and profile photo (if your provider shares one). You may also add a nickname and change your profile photo directly in the App.
Location. Once, at your first login, we ask for permission to use your device's location to determine a coarse, city-level location (for example, a Spanish city, "Philippines", or "Everywhere") so we can show you relevant community members and content nearby. We do not track your precise location on an ongoing basis, and we do not store GPS coordinates — only the resolved city/region label.
Content you create. This includes messages you send to other members, connection requests, and — for VIP subscribers — job listings you post (including any application link or contact email you choose to include, which is shown to other members browsing jobs).
Purchase information. If you subscribe to Spain Connect VIP, our payment processor (Apple, Google, or our subscription-management provider, RevenueCat) shares your subscription status and renewal dates with us so we can unlock VIP features on your account. We never see or store your payment card details — those are handled entirely by Apple and Google.
Technical information. Like most online services, our servers automatically log standard technical data (IP address, request timestamps, device/app version) for security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.
On-device translation. If you use the in-app translator, the text you type is translated directly on your device using Apple's or Google's on-device translation technology — it is never sent to Spain Connect's servers or to us for this purpose.
We do not collect financial account numbers, government ID numbers, or health information, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children (see Section 7).
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and maintain your account, and to show your profile to other members.
- To operate core features: community matching (Hangouts), connections, direct messaging, job listings, and deals/promotions.
- To process and manage your VIP subscription, and to unlock the features it includes.
- To keep the App secure, prevent abuse and spam, and enforce our terms.
- To communicate with you about your account or respond to support requests.
- To improve and maintain the App's reliability and performance.
3. Who We Share Information With
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:

Each of these providers only receives what's necessary to provide their service to us, and is contractually restricted from using your information for their own purposes. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Spain Connect, our members, or the public.
4. Data Retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (see Section 6), we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain certain records by law (for example, transaction records) or need to for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.
5. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information (most profile fields can be edited directly in the App).
- Request deletion of your information.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Request a copy of your information in a portable format.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@spainconnect.app. We'll respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
6. Deleting Your Account
You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by emailing privacy@spainconnect.app from the email address associated with your account. We will confirm and complete the deletion within 30 days.
7. Children's Privacy
Spain Connect is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, anyone under 16 years old. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@spainconnect.app and we will delete it.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure infrastructure providers — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
9. International Users
Spain Connect serves members in Spain, the Philippines, and elsewhere. Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, including the United States (via AWS) and other locations where our service providers operate, under appropriate safeguards.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Continued use of Spain Connect after a change means you accept the updated policy.
